SubOnly Mindset 4L
My path into NOGI grappling/ jiu jitsu came through Shootfighting Traditional GI Jitz was never on my radar.. (although I've had a Japanese superhero outfit on a couple of times) I was obsessed with the idea of free fighting and the subonly mindset, the honesty and purity of it Every time I teach now, I always have a voice in the back of my head.. "Will this technique or concept be applicable if my opponent could rain down fists and elbows?" If not, I get, eeeh.. I, like Eddie @eddiebravo10p, like to grapple and pretend there's strikes.. take away the offence with your clinchgame, polish your sweeps and sub-attacks, FROM the clinch If you want to be dangerous with your Jiu Jitsu in MMA, then this is key Also, for MMA, learn to wrestle! I do divide my teaching into two categories though: pure NOGI Submission Only game, and MMA game always make it clear what context we are dealing with.. what I don't teach, is point fighting "There are only two ways in which a fight can be decided: submission, or the loss of consciousness" - Helio Gracie #subonlymindset #fuckpointfighting #10P4L

Jiu Jitsu, at the core, is THE art of fighting with no rules.
But wait, I thought Jiu Jitsu was a sport? So it seems, and for sure, there's a huge sporting aspect to Jiu Jitsu.. In fact, the sport builds the warrior. Without the sporting aspect, Jiu Jitsu would suck as a fighting art. Any system that doesn't partake in sparring against fully resisting opponents on a regular basis, sucks for fighting. End of story! The sport and training methodology builds the real skill. It won't happen overnight, It’s a slow and steady process.
Don't buy into the “self-defense” weekend seminar crap.. unless you already know how to fight, this is just a waste of time! Start training on a regular basis, build your skills, slow and steady. Once the skills start to manifest, adding the dirty techniques is quite easy anyway. (If “they” have dirty.. and you have solid fighting skills + dirty...) There’s no system that will give you 100% safety! Real fighting, and especially self-defense (which is a legal term, by the way), is unpredictable to some degree. But regular training in Jiu Jitsu raises your procentages, giving you some solid and very practical real-world tools.
Luckily, training in Jiu Jitsu is maaad fun, and given time, it will elevate your life! You'd be surprised how addictive trying to murder your friends on a regular basis really is!

Huge congrats to our man, 10pBergen purple, Ole Hetleflåt @ole.j.hetleflaat 👹💥 He was originally set for his second Pro MMA fight, but due to several opponents whimping out and no solution fight day, he agreed to a SubOnly Jiu Jitsu match instead 🙌 of course won in regular dominant fashion by early submission, arm in guillotine choke 🙇♂️ beautiful work, man! 🥷👇👊⛩️ #subonly #submissionhunters #team10pBergen @10pBergen @fightlab.arna #nogi #jiujitsu #bjj #10P4L
10th Planet Bergen Update!
10th Planet Bergen! <3 Where do I begin… It’s been 8 years since I started building the academy from scratch. 8 years of blood and sweat, but no tears. It’s been an absolutely crazy ride, so many epic moments, mad fun trips/ tournaments, and social gatherings. But most of all, professionally structured training sessions, consistent hard work, in a training environment optimized for long-term technical development! What we have today is the result of all of the above, and I could not be happier with the result! I'm not a very proud person, but I’m extremely proud of 10pBergen! Now, there's going to be some changes going forward. As many now know, I’m moving from Bergen back to Fredrikstad, and I want to present to you the new future moonheads of 10pBergen: Kristian Olsvik and Espen Visnes! (approved by Eddie Bravo himself) They are both 10pBergen brown belts and professional level competitors. Assassins! They have been my assistant instructors for the last 4 years and started training with me back in 2010, with Bergen Cagefighters. Both really technical and sharp NOGI ninjaz! They know the ins and outs of the 10th planet system and have a rock solid commitment to the Jiu Jitsu journey! I’m more than confident that 10pBergen will be in good hands, continue to grow, and deliver quality output in the years to come! Want to give a huge shout out to all students at 10pBergen. You have given so much, and I appreciate the fuck out of each and every one of you! “The strength of a team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” Team10pBergen, all hail!! Last, rumours travel fast, gonna make this official.. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Fredrikstad IS happening! It will be the second certified 10th Planet affiliate in Norway! Gonna take some time to build the first solid base, but time I got. Using the same recipe for 10pBergen, I’m confident 10pFredrikstad will start producing sharp quality a few years down the line. If you want to become a part of this new journey and learn some seriously legit NOGI Jiu Jitsu, then stay tuned! #10P4L @eddiebravo10p @cat.jitsu @evisnes10p

Black belt promotion Frode Nilsen by Eddie Bravo
Many have been asking, so here it is. My black belt promotion at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Headquarters, by Eddie Bravo! 🥷⛩️🔥
The whole weekend was pure insanity, so much fun, and with amazing people. People I’m privileged enough to call family ❤️ I had a certain idea when I flew over that something was gonna happen, just based on feedback from several other black belts in the system, but was obviously not sure. Promotions in general are never taken for granted, you just do, and do more, until it happens 💯🔥 This marks the third time in my life, I've been awarded the rank of black belt. Every prior promotion has been emotional, and I knew, if this was my time, that this one would be extremely hard to “grapple” with. Now, I’m fairly used to talking in front of people, being an instructor for so many years.. but this one got too emotional for me, my brain just shut down, hard! 🤯 Probably did not help that I was kind of tired AND injured on top of having to deal with a really sucky Jetlag.. my brain just could NOT compute, too emotional, too surreal. 👹 Soooo, of course I had a lot more to say, and now that the dust has settled, it’s time to finish. So where was I, aah yeah.. I get fucking tired as hell, but… IT’S WAY WORTH IT!! Like I say in the video, this promotion represents 17 years of study and hard work, and a mind boggling amount of effort has been laid down to get to this point. I passed the 10p moonhead certification by Eddie in 2014 and shortly thereafter I got to work building 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Bergen. Now, 8 years later and 10pBergen has grown into a seriously legit NOGI academy with some deadly sharp students 🥷 killing it on the Norwegian stage as well as the International stage ❤️ Seeing them go from half assed “grapplers” into sharp professional level NOGI athletes is more than pleasing as a coach, hard to put into words, but it’s extremely rewarding! 🙏👊 Soo, I want to thank each and everyone at 10pBergen for the time you've put in, for the trust and the unconditional loyalty over the years. The culture on our mats is beyond amazing, I’m kind of lost for words when I think of it. From the bottom of my black heart, THANK YOU ALL! ❤️🙏💯🔥 Also want to thank my better half, Anette, for being a part of, and letting me pursue this “dream”. If I decide to do something, I go all in, it’s really all in or nothing! 💥 Cut out the noise, life is too short to second guess if you got the itch. I know this uncompromising focus can be a bit daunting, and probably frustrating at times, but you've been nothing but supportive. I could not have asked for a better wife ❤️ Thank you! Love you! ❤️🙏 Also, huge thanks everyone, for all the attention regarding the promotion. Mind Blowing! 🤯‼️ And last but not least, Eddie @eddiebravo10p... The 10th Planet association has grown into a beautiful world wide community of straight out killers, a community I’m extremely proud to be a small part of. I am beyond grateful for your support over the years, for the help and the trust to let me build 10pBergen, to pursue my dream. Again words can't do the feelings justice, so I’m gonna keep it short and real, nothing but love and respect, Eddie! 💯 Thank you so much for everything, Sensei! ❤️👇👊🥷❤️ #10P4L Also, a huge thanks to all my 10p Brothers and sisters around the globe, love you all! ❤️ Thanks for the second video angle @plaster10p, pure amaze!🙏❤️💯 Now, exciting times for 10th Planet in Norway 🇳🇴 some great news coming soon, stay tuned! 🥷👇👊⛩️ #10thplanetblackbelt #promotionvideo #beyondgrateful #10P4L
